If at all possible, I'll try and make my way to Eagle Creek to observe the fall salmon run in Eagle Creek. With drought increasingly becoming an issue, it might not be every year that I'll get to see them in the free flowing stream above the fish hatchery. Such was the case on this year, but even so, there is always wonderful opportunities to photograph the American Dippers. Here we see a Dipper that has caught a large and juicy stonefly, what a wonderful midday snack! Eagle Creek, Columbia River Gorge, Oregon.

At the height of the fall salmon run, an American dipper who was foraging for salmon eggs, has instead found a tasty stonefly. Eagle Creek, Multnomah County. Columbia River Gorge, Oregon.
