A beautiful snow white specimen of an Destroying Angel (Amanita ocreata). I’m actually confused by the circumstance of my having found this mushroom, and am not entirely certain of my identification. While it did have a vulva, I found it off season in October and associated with Doug-fir, at an elevation of 2200′ while hiking the McKenzie River trail. If anyone has suggestions as t o an ID, please feel free to message me, I would be most appreciative. Willamette National Forest, Oregon West Cascades.
