A riparian forest of Black Cottonwood and Red Alder, along Salmon Creek in the watershed of the Middle Fork Willamette. The lower section of Salmon Creek between the campground and railroad trestle illustrates complex hydrogeomorphology, with excellent examples of braided channel, channel migration, in-stream woody debris, gravel bars, fluvial terrace and a lush riparian. The south side Salmon Creek Trail (No.4365) follows the river closely as it winds its way through lush forest wilds. Willamette National Forest, Oregon West Cascades.
