One of my favorite pictographs amongst the impressive collection displayed at the Temani Pesh-wa trail, is that of the River Monster. A warning carved onto rock along the dangerous currents of Celilo Falls and the Long Narrows. Columbia Hills State Park, Washington State.

Petroglyph from the Temani Pesh-wa trail depicting a classic water, or river monster design. It is believed that native people of the Columbia River believed there was a water monster whom dwelt in the depths of the river, and lured people to their death. Columbia Hills State Park, Klickitat County, Washington State.
