Oregon Note Cards – South Sister and Broken Top

Oregon Note Cards – South Sister and Broken Top

From: $4.00

Oregon note cards of the South Sister and Broken Top as seen from the summit of Spencer Butte, just south of Eugene.  lens. The yellow color cast in this image isn’t the product of a yellow filter being used, but rather is a consequence of a 500mm f/4.0 telephoto lens’ compression of distance, and its narrow field of view ‘tunneling’ through 60 miles of sunrise colored atmospheric haze. The next time you see a sunset or sunrise where there is a narrow band of intensely colored sky near the horizon, imagine using a telephoto lens to narrow your field of view and photograph an object found in that color band.
